In the 16th century, doctors recommended eating onions to prevent female infertility. Onions are effective in balancing blood sugar levels. There are three types of onion namely red, white and yellow. Onions contain vitamin C, flavonoids and phytonutrients. The presence of flavonoids in onions reduces the risk of stroke and heart disease. Selenium present in white onion strengthens the immune level of the body. Selenium helps protect against viruses and allergic conditions.

In heart health
White onions contain antioxidants that reduce pain. Lowers cholesterol levels and improves heart health. Besides, its anti-inflammatory properties reduce high blood pressure.

White onions are high in fiber and prebiotics that improve digestion.
