Gultekin Khan married fiction writer and filmmaker Humayun Ahmed for love. The couple separated after thirty years of marriage. Gultekin was mailed a divorce notice in a yellow envelope by novelist Humayun Ahmed. Gultekin Khan has highlighted the incident of that day almost two decades ago in a Facebook post.
He posted the envelope and the notice of separation notice on social media and wrote, in fact, my daughter Sheela would say that these are letters written in yellow envelopes, these are love letters to you. Many people wrote to me after reading the autobiographical book written by Sheela's father.
Referring to the divorce notice arriving in a yellow envelope on June 6, 2004, Gultekin writes, "On June 6 (2004), Sheila said on her way home from school, "You've got a love letter." I was climbing the stairs to open the envelope, when I got up to look at the letter, a piece of paper came out.
