Three woman cricketers from South Asia fulfilled their dreams on e-commerce platform Daraj. Three promising cricketers are sponsored to enjoy the 19th Asian Games held in Hangzhou. Daraj bears all the travel expenses of the three cricketers from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal to Hangzhou.

By providing them with a unique opportunity to witness women's cricket matches in person at the prestigious event, Daraj aims to contribute to the growth and empowerment of women in sports, bringing them one step closer to their dreams, a press release said.

The road to becoming a professional cricketer is not easy, especially for women. Recognizing the potential and determination of female athletes in South Asia, Daraj has taken an important step to support their aspirations and promote gender equality in sports, it said.

The selected athletes, Tharushi Fernando of Sri Lanka, Nuzhat Sabah of Bangladesh and Khushi Dangol of Nepal, are such women athletes who are defying the odds to achieve their dreams and represent their nation on the international stage, the release said.

Nuzhat Sabah Firdous reflects on her experience saying, 'I tried so many new things for the first time and learned a lot about myself and others on this trip. It was also my first time watching a women's cricket match in person. I gained invaluable insight into the game itself, which I could not have learned just by watching it on television - which I believe will help improve my skills as a cricket player. Thank you, Daraz, for this incredible opportunity!'

Daraz Group Chief Marketing Officer Cheryl Ang said, 'Daraz started nine years ago to uplift communities through the power of commerce, and today our mission remains the same. Daraj recognizes the importance of supporting aspiring athletes and promoting women's cricket at the international level and aims to lead the charge in representing South Asia on the world stage.'

'It was a pleasure to witness how this experience had a lasting impact on the lives of these three young women, and how they bonded over their mutual love of cricket. This has strengthened our resolve to support more initiatives that strengthen the wider South Asian community.
