Shakib explained reason for losing match

After a great victory in their first match in the ongoing World Cup, the Bangladesh team saw the reverse side of the coin in the second match. Liton-Mushfiqur left the field with a defeat of 137 runs due to the extreme failure of the batsmen against the world champions England. Tigers captain Shakib felt that losing wickets at the start was one of the reasons for the defeat.

After the match, Shakib said, 'It was good to win the toss. There was some rain last night too. We didn't start well, especially the first ten overs. We turned around the match brilliantly, but it was too late. Chasing 350 is impossible when you lose four wickets in the first ten overs.'

He further said, 'We had a great plan, but we could not implement it on the field. The ball was moving well in the first five-six overs. It's a long tournament. We have to move forward. Some tougher matches await us. We have to move on and think about all the positives we got from this match.''
