Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Department of Pathology has started online registration process for disease sample testing as per doctor's prescription. This program was inaugurated to reduce the suffering in providing services related to tests to more than 38 thousand patients in the Pathology Department this year.
On Monday (December 4), the university's external department-2 was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Sharfuddin Ahmed. At the same time, the new nameplate, logo of the pathology department, online reporting, reorganization of the pathology labs and the inauguration of the cancer molecular lab were also inaugurated in New Kolber.
The Chairman of the Department of Pathology Professor Dr. Md. Zillur Rahman highlighted the overall activities of the department.
In the speech of the chief guest, the Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Sharfuddin Ahmed said, "The service provided by the Pathology Department, despite the various limitations, undoubtedly deserves praise. Everyone working in the department is working tirelessly.
He also said, 'Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University's pathology department has a lot of reputation in the whole country. The test result of this category is the best in the country.
Professor Dr. Md. Sharfuddin Ahmed also said, 'One of the important tasks of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University is to provide good education to the students here. If the residents here can be given good education, then the people of the country will benefit. Therefore, I would request the teachers to continue the way you are working as well as to develop them as efficient experts by adopting new methods.

In the event, it was informed that 38 thousand 7029 patients have been provided examination related services in the pathology department this year (2023). Resident doctors in this department have completed 7 theses of importance, 5 theses are in progress and 17 publications of public importance have been edited.
